We have been buying womenswear vintage and sourcing new womenswear fashion designers in Los Angeles for many years, and we love it; the secret is not to stay amid the hustle and bustle of LA. We pick up our convertible, which is a ‘must have’ with the gorgeous weather at LAX airport and its only a 45 min drive along the Pacific coast highway passing through quaint Santa Monica. The ocean is on one side and amazing hills and canyons on the other.
Some years ago having ventured up one of these canyon’s roads we took the most beautiful drive along a windy canyon road with pine trees and huge mountains on either side and discovered this amazing tiny hippy town of maybe 20 small buildings dotted either side of the Canyon road. Topanga Canyon a hippy hangout in the 60’s and 70’s, It was here that we discovered one of our favorite shops to visit ‘Hidden Treasures‘ and a hidden treasure it certainly is, an Aladdin’s cave of the most Beautiful Vintage finds! Discovering something special is the ethos of Global Fashion Space and that is exactly what we love to do!
Eating in Topanga Canyon turned out to be another fabulous experience when we found a magical restaurant set back off the old Topanga Canyon road called the Inn Of The Seventh Ray. Dining outside among the trees at this organic heaven, on a warm afternoon at a table overlooking a beautiful creek was wonderful.
We always stay at the Malibu Beach Inn (when they have availability) its within walking distance of Malibu Colony where celebrities have their Ocean front homes and its only a 10 minute walk away from another one of our favorite restaurants Nobu Malibu. The Malibu Beach Inn is a small boutique hotel with 47 rooms situated right on the beach front with the ocean only feet away. Each room has its own private balcony overlooking the ocean, great for Whale, Dolphin and Surfer Dude watching!
