18x I finally figured out that the unknown device is the game port on the Sound Blaster card. Ive done it installed with no problem for more than 10 laptops and desktops. What is funny is that when I try to update the driver, it seems to find the driver and then tries to install but then comes back with a statement that it can’t find a sound blaster card.

I find out from the web that I can install the driver using the hardware installation wizard and clicking on the inf file. Win 7 won’t allow you to run the XP setup file so you will have to configure it through Device Manager by z64 update driver and direct Win 7 to the proper folder where you downloaded the XP audio driver.
