I installed vista about a week ago and have all kinds of sound problems. I fixed the problem by using both device driver packs from Realtek and Realtek ac79 audio.

I think if Windows did in fact register it as a sound card “Multimedia Audio Device”it would install the drivers properly, as the driver installation program would auto-detect the device, and install the driver to it. I’ve had difficulty dissecting the KB’s associated with this. Vista installed all other drivers.
Since the realtek website was so slow, i endeded realtek ac79 audio the C-media Xp drivers, which, somehow, works on vista too If you could please tell me that would be great. I ran into the same issue with realtek ac79 audio new little Sony laptop when I was installing a clean copy of XP.
